As the story begins, we see Lung, a recent migrant from China, working at a fish nursery with his good friend Birdie. Lung served in the Special Units of the People's Liberation Army and had received good training in Chinese Kung Fu. He is a no-nonsense, non-flamboyant guy, just looking for some simple and unadventurous life in Hong Kong. Birdie, on the other hand, is an impulsive gambler and a regular customer of the loan sharks. Unable to repay the interest due to them, Birdie was beaten up by the loan sharks. Lung intervened on Birdie's behalf and the loan sharks syndicate took offense. In retaliation, the syndicate destroyed the fish nursery by putting poison in the water - A mistake that would cost them dearly in pain, blood and death...!

Hong Kong, 1990: After a gay couple are murdered two disaster-prone and decidedly straight detectives Jeff and Alan – the multi-talented Samo Hung and actor/singer Alan Tam – are assigned to go undercover and cruise the gay bars for clues.

This violent gangster film from veteran Hong Kong filmmaker Kirk Wong is one of the earliest to deal with the themes and stylistic techniques later popularized in films such as A Better Tomorrow. Sai (Michael Chan) is a triad hoodlum who works security at his employer's dance club overseeing the safety of the female staff. Sai's boss is murdered with an outboard motor in a particularly gruesome scene, and two different factions fight for control of the club as Sai and his co-workers struggle to keep them out. Grim and downbeat, the film contains some notable fight scenes, particularly one in which Sai fights a dozen would-be killers in a cavernous parking garage. Norman Tsui co-stars with Kent Cheng and Phillip Ko.
